It's been five months and Austin still has not sent me a letter or License. At least I still have my VA License which has reciprocity.

Have you pinged them to try to find out why? Mine (MS) came in withing 10 days and when my wife's reached 5 weeks we checked back and it turned out they had transcribed the address wrong so it came back to them.

There may be an overwhelming influx of applications since they changed
the law to only require a 4-hour class. I'll call the instructor and
ask if this is unusual before I call Austin. I've had no problems with
acquiring a CHL in other states where I travel, and the longest I've waited
was only a few months. This time it's taking longer for some odd reason.
