I’ve always thought that there are way to many kids in college. By the 8th or 9th grades it can be known which kids have little to no attributes for higher education.
Have the kids take assessments and those that have “trade” type skills/attributes get pipelined into shop classes.
Those that have the attributes for higher learning, get pipelined into higher education.
The trades kids “graduate” as interns or apprentices and get certifications in order to get started with their careers.
Not everyone “deserves” to go to college and this might help reduce the numbers of problems in schools where the learning curves have taken a dramatic plunge as a result of kids who don’t belong there.
