The author doesn’t “get it”. While there certainly are “moderate” Muslims, the collective consciousness of the Umma is best reflected in those societies where Islam is the dominant belief system or in those societies where the percent age of Muslims has reached “critical mass”, as in Britsin, France, Sweden, and, increasingly, the US. AND THAT REFLECTION IS A SINISTER ONE.
Unlike Christianity and Judaism and other faiths which present a corpus of religious writings which urge decent treatment for fellow human brings, the Koran is replete with vitriolic passages of intolerance, violence and hatred.
Unlike other religions founded by figures who were law-givers and social philosophers, Islam was founded by a murderous pedophilic desert bandit who slaughtered people with his own hand and directed his followers to do likewise.
Groups like ISIS, in fact ARE orthodox Muslims and the “moderates” such as they are, the “radicals”.
The drive towards “tolerance”and “multi-culturalism” by the politically correct left refuses, in its social self-hatred, to rationally deal with such a culturally insidious and aggressive movement and instead seeks to reach a modus vivendi
with them, as in this piece.
The only way to deal with a socio-political system which aggressively seeks to destroy you is to stop trying to reason with or rationalize it’s behavior. It must be destroyed.
There is little in the article with which a practicing Muslim would agree, or a practicing Jew, Christian or Buddhist for that matter. Most notably no faith community earnestly believes that there ought to be a mosaic of human belief systems. It is, for example, the primary task of every orthodox Christian to bring the salvation of Christ to every corner of the world.
The struggle is not to seek a more humane practice of Islam, as worthy as that may be. It is for one faith to win over all others.
We are engaged in a religious war, not a secular one, the COEXISTENCE crowd notwithstanding. Islam will be crushed when its adherents accept Christ as the Savior of mankind.
