Thousands of Israelis showed their support and sympathy at the funeral of the four victims killed by a terrorist attack on the kosher supermarket Hyper Cacher in Paris.

The victims were buried today at noon Israeli time in the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem. All the victims were Jewish; Yohan Cohen, Yoav Hattab, Phillipe Barham and Francois-Michel Saada.

Although the victims were French citizens, their families asked the Israeli authorities for permission to bury their bodies in Israel. Israel’s government agreed, and made the necessary arrangements.

The funerals were attended by many Israeli public figures, as well as key figures from the French Jewish community, numbered at 500,000 strong. Speeches were made by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, head of opposition Isaac Herzog and French Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development and Energy, Segolene Royal.

It is significant that the families wanted their loved ones buried in Israel and not in France. Expect the exodus of French Jews to accelerate in the coming months and years.

Absolutely. Were they buried in France, their graves, now famous because of the tragic murders, would be easily found and vandalized by the Jihadis or plain old European Jew Haters, who are resurging in number.

Wow. That is an incredible number of people who turned out. On a per capita basis, it beat the numbers who turned out in France for the rally.

The era of Vichy France is one example. Perhaps we disagree, which is fine. My opinion does not effect you.

Israel seems to have quite a few massive funerals. Not for nothing, but does anyone hold a job in Israel?

May their families never know sorrow again.

European hostility towards Israel is strictly not anti-semitic?

Please.

This is the old “yer all Nazis” line.

Any nationalist or anti-mass immigration statement is always quashed by saying that it’s anti-Semitism in Europe, or America for that matter in some cases.

All the modern anti-Muslim immigration parties in Europe are routinely smeared this way. It’s ludicrous.

The guilty parties of anti-Semitism in Europe are the recent invasionists - from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Central Asia: Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Indian Muslims.

Was Theo Van Gogh just your average closet SS guy? How ‘bout Pim Fortuyn? Geert Wilders? Pia Kjaersgaard?

The positions of Jean Marie Le Pen and Georg Haider are the usual counter to this. But time has shown that the basic viewpoint they shared - that mass immigration to Europe is not a good thing for Europe - is correct.

The Socialists who routinely hurled insults and innuendo at them did so to defeat this viewpoint. The meme is, “if you’re anti-immigrant, you must be a Nazi, and if you’re a Nazi, you must be anti-Semitic”. The concept that you might hold the former view but not the latter is not allowed, as that would defeat the Socialist attack.

Is European “hostility towards Israel” anti-Semitic?

The Left is the principal hostile group. They say it’s because the Zionists victimize the Palestinians, has nothing to do with traditional animosity towards Jews. Do you believe them?

I weary of speculation on whether you’re-a-peons are anti-Semitic. Their supposed sympathy for the Palestinians is disingenuous, perhaps motivated by a desire to placate the Arab immigrants in their midst, perhaps to get cheap oil from the Saudis, perhaps because socialists believe in encouraging new nations to emerge, so they can one day do away with national borders and all join hands together beneath the equality tree, even if we have to be handcuffed together and watched carefully, or perhaps anti-Semitic, or some combination of some or all of these motivations plus something I haven’t thought of. Bottom line, they are nuts. If left to their own devices, they are going to fall hard, and bring everyone else down with them. It must be stopped, somehow. But how does one fight willful, terminal stupidity?

Good lines.

Europe thought that doing the opposite of Nazi Germany was the way to go. Open borders, everyone welcome to walk in, state welfare for all, abandon all colonies and apologize, denationalize, EU-ize.

Just one big happy family singin’ we are the weird.

But it turns out people are different, and nations do exist. And dont always mix that well. Some people feel strongly about things. Europeans no longer understand that with respect to religion.

Now they are being reacquainted with it.
