It always seemed strange in Radio Shack. If you wanted one connector, the package would have two, and you’d have to pay for two! And there was always something creepy about how they wanted your name and address when you checked out. I always had a feeling there was some strange religious cult behind the whole operation.

That used to annoy me like crazy. I always gave a fake name. Nine times out of ten they didn't have what I wanted, and the store employees were clueless about what was asked for. I'd ask for 22-gauge dual stranded wire and they'd bring me AC electrical cord or single solid wire. Simple stuff! You'd ask about eproms and dips and their eyes would glaze over.
