The United States will be increasing the number of Syrian refugees allowed to resettle in the U.S. over the next few years, Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration Anne Richard said in an interview with Al-Monitor, a website focused on Middle East news, on Tuesday.
Richard said the U.S. plans to absorb up to 10,000 refugees annually, up from 350 this year — a significant uptick despite its drop-in-the-bucket effect on the total Syrian refugee population of 3.3 million.
A separate official noted to ABC News that the increase will happen gradually.
“The Syrian program is relatively new, so I think we’ll begin to see an appreciable uptick in 2015 with an increasing number in the years to follow,” the official said.
The official explained that the U.S. receives about 1,000 new Syrian referrals from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees each month.
Just what we need. Surely a bunchy of rocket scientists, brain surgeons, and entrepreneurs.

But Canada's Prime Minister Harper is being smart about it. Canada will "prioritize persecuted ethnic and religious minorities, those at demonstrated risk, and we will make no apologies for that". That means Christians, who make up less than 10% of Syria's population.
We cannot expect rational behavior from Obama, however.
U.N. High Commission for Refugees = Muslim refugees
It is extremely difficult for Christians from any Muslim dominated society to get refugee status to come to America. The UN sets refugee status and The USA has defaulted to the UN’s agenda in this regard. Only Muslims for the most part easily get refugee status and Christian’s as a part of Sharia no they have no options but to accept their place and fate. It is quite disgusting and would be denied by most Americans as not possible. But if one checks - Voice of the Martyrs - ministry has been exposing this the last few years but it is extremely difficult to find any articles or facts in contemporary journalism or news to this crazy and upside down situation.
