...anti-immigrant protests have been growing by the week, drawing international attention and fears that xenophobia is on the rise again in Germany - whose Nazi past has long made such sentiments taboo...
Totally biased article. Imagine blaming the protesters’ motivation on the Communist rule in their past. The nerve. Total hogwash. The critics’ delicate sensibilities prevent them from saying “Nazi” so they trot out a pastor and pull out a different negative term, but “Nazi” is what they mean and what Merkel has such unwarranted fear of. The article goes right ahead and says it. Unconscionable mudslinging.

We have no-go zones in California and Texas. We need to get rid of these as soon as possible.
It was leftists who led Germany down the path of xenophobia the last time they went there, and it will be leftists who take them there if they go again.
Protecting one’s country from an actual foreign invasion is NOT xenophonia.
Yes. Yes they were.
Maybe, just maybe, the Germans have seen this ideology before?
Never again!
Nazis and Muslims were bestest buddies.
