The are sections of Paris that non-muslims including Emergency personnel don’t go to.
I have noticed, at least where I live, that Christian churches are wide open, highly visible, signs everywhere saying “welcome to all” and announcing the times of all their services. Jewish synagogues, same thing. Open, brightly lit, welcoming. Even foreign-language religious buildings (Korean Christian churches, Vietnamese Buddhist temples, etc.) are all clearly marked, welcoming, and with English signs augmenting the other languages.
Mosques, on the other hand, are almost always hidden behind hedges or fences, no signs of any kind, no indication that it is a religious building of any sort, to say nothing of a mosque. No welcome signs, no times for services, nothing.
That will change. In Virginia the mosque near Merrifield had signs (and local police guard) after 9/11. Probably still has the signs. Once Islam gets a better foothold they will build the giant mosques with the loudspeakers, no way you can miss them then.
Especially when they are armed and the British citizenry isn't.
He should apologise, as what he said is rubbish. Complete nonsense. And Emerson has a LONG history of such rubbish, going back to Oklahoma.

Cleese, a highly intelligent man, knows that cities by definition, have always been cosmopolitan. London is one of the most and always has been: Jews, blacks both Caribbean and African, Irish, Slavs, German Jews, French Protestants, Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Greeks, Arabs.......when John was writing Python in 69, his city was a mix of different peoples, it wasn’t all white British and Irish.
