I recall Major Winter, who, as Lt. Winter, was company commander of Easy Company on D-Day, Bastogne, during Market-Garden, and battalion commander on into Brechtesgarten, said how we could have had whipped the Nazis months sooner if he’d had a couple of WACS in each platoon. /s
After the war he was offered a Regular Army commission. He was wise to decline and return to civilian life.

Women in the Navy is obviously a smashing success. nearly all are returned to off duty status due to pregnancy. Amazing how going to sea increases fecundity.
