The funniest jokes have a measure of truth in them.
My favorite vacation was Paris, in part because the food was wonderful.
I am an Anglophile and very much enjoyed London. However, aside from excellent Indian food, the English cuisine still sucks. One exception: there is nothing as good as fresh draft Guiness from gravity taps.
Being a non-drinker and not that fond of Indian food, when I was hungry enough in London I went to several of the many presumably muslim locations Turkish restaurants and kebab shops and also to Chinese and Italian restaurants, provided the proprietors were suitably ethnic. The very best even tangentially English-style restaurant I went to, Sarastro in the theatre district, was founded by a Cypriot (possibly a Turkish muslim, but by no means an ascetic, as evidenced by the jolly pornographic decor in the restrooms).
