Do we need a War on Terror? YES..!
Do we have one NOW? No..!
I think in world history it’s almost unprecedented for a country to be devoting so much MOUTH-share to this concept while being completely powerless to stop an invasion by CHILDREN.
For those two things to exist side-by-side is ABSURD.
Let’s rewind the clocks:
East Germany says they have airtight security, but a few phone calls shows an entire generation of screaming, diseased Guatemalans have taken up residence there:
Would you take ANYTHING East Germany said seriously, after that?
Our enemies will not either.
I'm going to disagree — we do not need a war on some abstract concept that can be changed at the whims of those in power.
Such a war
is inherently unwinnable: because there is no clear goal, there is no clear victory condition
, because there is no clear victory condition
the goal may be moved and altered at-will.
(Look at how they've floated the idea tea-party = terrorist
out there; they want the War on Terror so that they can define their political enemies as terrorists.)
