The two men suspected of attacking a newspaper in Paris have stolen a car and reportedly have several hostages.
A car chase is under way on the N2 motorway, and police sources say shots have been fired.
The car is now on the outskirts of Paris - close to Charles de Gaulle airport - and several helicopters are reportedly hovering overhead.
Sky's Ian Woods says the police focus now appears to have turned to an industrial building near to the airport.
Two people with gunshot wounds have been taken to hospital in Meaux.

So it’s AlQ vs Isis for attention
Then- grocery attacker calls the magazine reporter... tells the mag. reporter that he is working for ISIS... said he shot the 2 cops because he was working with the bros... picked the grocery store randomly, (probably in a panic...) said he shot and killed the 4 hostages at the outset.
WOW!
SOURCE: CNN reporter on the ground interviewing a former French navy SEAL. Not sure what his source was.
Thank you so much, maggief, for these stunning updates. I fear for the world...this is just the beginning. Meanwhile, as i toggle between FR and the telegraph, I’m unable to get horrible images out of my head of what is sure to come soon to our beloved country.
Telegraph:
18.35 More on what the gunman told French TV from Henry Samuel:
Cherif Kouachi told BFMTV that he had been funded by a network loyal to Anwar al-Awlaki, the former American-born leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula who was killed by a drone strike in 2011 in Yemen.
Coulibaly swore allegiance to Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, and told BFMV the terrorist attacks were synchronised.
You are welcome.
Sobering news that’s for certain.
Telegraph:
18.40 French terror expert Amel Boubekeur interviewed the radical creator of the Bettes-Charmont terror cell, Farid Benyettou, at a demonstration, reports Nicola Harley.
She said he was “charismatic” and the group, who she refused to name individually, saw themselves as “freedom fighters”.
Quote They were young people,” she said.
“They felt stigmatised in France for being Muslim and they didn’t know what to do. After that I found some of them went to Iraq.
“Farid was a well dressed, remarkable guy who spoke logically. I can see why they listen to him.
“They were young people who had been rejected by official channels, like schools. They said they felt humiliated by the West. They never spoke of wanting to commit acts of terror but of being freedom fighters and resistant fighters.
“The Kouachi brothers and Amedy Coulibaly are a new generation of radicals. It is easier to get radicalised now on the internet.
“There will be more incidents.”
Islam apologists... er MSNBC & CNN playing blame game.
It’s not your father’s jihad anymore.
This is a media savvy generation of terrorists.
BBC:
18:45
BFMTV news channel is broadcasting a telephone interview with a man who they identified as the supermarket gunman, named as Amedy Coulibaly. In the interview, he says he had been coordinating his attack with the Charlie Hebdo suspects and that he was from the Islamic State militant group active in Syria and Iraq.
But one of the Charlie Hebdo suspects, Cherif Kouachi, told the same channel he had been sent and financed by al-Qaeda in Yemen, another militant group which is not believed to have had overt ties with Islamic State.
Are you listening to the broadcast too maggief? did he have a nice calm voice being from the peaceful religion of course (sarcasm on)
BAMs coming on shortly. Must have a 2:30 tee-time.
No, listening to the Golfer-in-Chief on CNN.
What is he saying? I see he was supposed to speak anyway according to his daily schedule.
A gunman robbed a jewellery store in the southern French city of Montpellier on Friday, taking two hostages, a judicial source said, adding the incident had no link to the twin hostage dramas around Paris.
Montpellier (France) (AFP)
It was a robbery, it has nothing to do with what is happening in Paris, prosecutor Christophe Barret told AFP.

telegraph:
19.20 In America, the president, Barack Obama, has said the country stands with its ally, France, and hopes the immediate threat is now resolved, writes David Lawler.
Quote I want to begin by saying just a few words about the tragic events that we’ve watched unfold in France over the last several hours and days.”
“We’re hopeful that the immediate threat is now resolved, thanks to the courage and professionalism of the French personnel on the ground, but the French government continues to face the threat of terrorism and has to remain vigilant. The situation is fluid. President Hollande’s made it clear that they’re going to do whatever is necessary to protect their people.”
“France is our oldest ally. I want the people of France to know that the United States stands with you today, stands with you tomorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who’ve been directly impacted. We grieve with you. We fight alongside you to uphold our values, the values we share. Universal values that bind us together as friends and as allies.”
“In the streets of Paris the world has seen once again what terrorists stand for. They have nothing to offer but hatred and human suffering, and we stand for freedom and hope and the dignity of all human beings, and that’s what the city of Paris represents to the world. That spirit will endure forever, long after the scourge of terrorism is banished from this world.”
