Sharyl could use some help. This would be a good time for a government whistleblower with inside knowledge to go public.

Here is a "fake but accurate" representation of what she'll get:

When the government spies on Islamic terrorists, the left is outraged and claims to support the terrorist’s supposed right to privacy. When a journalist who reports on government corruption is spied on by the Obama Administration, well, that’s a bit different - I don’t hear any outrage from the permanently aggrieved about that.

Plus, all we get is Gruber facts out of these guys. Why should a court trial or lawsuit suddenly make them honest. We can’t believe a word they say.

The fiber optic cable at her house might have been planted by Verizon.

investigative reporters become celebs when investigating Republican regimes. Then they get movies and awards!

“The fiber optic cable at her house might have been planted by Verizon.”

If they had an F/O cable into her place they were pulling some serious stuff out when they wanted to. That’s a really big “pipe.”

Hopefully she is aware that if she had cable internet, it was probably copper while her ATT telephone (whether she subscribed or not) may have been fiber.

If Bush had done this you would’ve been hearing about the President personally wiretapping journalists’ phones and computers and homes and how a horrible violation of the free press EVERY DAY at the top of the news hour.

That same media is silent today.

Oh, did you know it got cold this week? In January? Can you believe it?

Some old baseball players got into the Hall Of Fame.

There was some workplace violence in France.

But wiretapping? no room...

Remember when the press went ballistic after the Watergate break in? Now the government is spying on the press and the press could care less. I guess as long as the “right people” are in power, it’s ok.

The agents or contractors are low level employees with no decision making power. True, they can say who told them or paid them, but they have no culpability. I’m fairly certain they personally will be protected by the law. If not, then all agencies will have a problem getting legitimate work done as the worker will have no visibility into whether a future court would decide that it wasn’t a legitimate action. This will hamper agencies performing drug enforcement and people tracking terrorists.

When I had a classified job we, the workers, believed with some justification that if we talked to a reporter about our classified work we’d be arrested and held with no appeal.
