Sorry. I see her point. We are fighting battle after battle in hopes of winning the War on American Values. Boehner was going to win anyway. I will watch to see how her voting record goes from here on out and then decide if she’s truly Conservative.
So defeatism is the answer?
Love already disavowed the Tea Party.
I voted for Perot. That didn’t work out so well. (Odd though - EVERYONE I know also voted for Perot!?)
I will wait to hold judgement on all of these new people to see how they vote. However, how many times have we heard “we have to take the long view, this isn’t the hill to die on, etc.” (BTW - like Patton said, iirc “...make the other bastard die for his country.”)
They needed a small number of votes....to say.."WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!"
The GOB won...the elections. The voters have HAD it, with the status quo!!!!
As do I. Considering all but perhaps one democrat was casting a vote for Pelosi, and the opposition to Boehner scattered and not substantially organized, her point was, was the miniscule chance of unseating Boehner realistic enough to roll the dice and chance the possibility of Pelosi becoming Speaker again?
Vote for Boehner = NOT CONSERVATIVE. DONE!
Seeing the response written this way makes a bit more sense. And she is right; if we wanted to change the Speaker to a more conservative person, then we should have got that person out on November 5th and ran the campaign. We can’t wait until the weekend before to “identify” a few possibilities.
Thanks. You saved me the trouble of writing your post myself.
“We are fighting battle after battle in hopes of winning the War on American Values. Boehner was going to win anyway.”
Yep, we are fighting Boehner first and foremost. With him standing in our way, we will continue to lose.
I agree with you totally!
There's also merit wondering about her vote...and jumping into the CBC..right off.
I gave a good deal of money to her campaign....and I'm not happy today.
Tried to tell her office that...and get stonewalled.
Seems like....it's the same ol thing...over and over again.
Sorry. I see her point. We are fighting battle after battle in hopes of winning the War on American Values.

I also see her point. .....I watched the voting and was becoming a little anxious when Boehner only had a 15-20 vote lead. If more Pubbies had voted for someone else, it’s possible that Pelosi could have won by having the majority of the voiced name votes.
wow it only took 4 posts for someone with guts to stand up for her. congrats.
It is not about Mia Love. Where was the organized effort months ago to get a conservative replacement for Boehner? My rep Mo Brooks explained it very well this morning. Mid-2014 he was begging established prominent conservative reps to run against Boehner. None of them would do it. This happened throughout 2H2014. Where were the conservative leaders with guts to take Boehner’s place? Then we get this pathetic last ditch effort 4 days before the vote? 25 reps splitting their vote across a handful of people including a Senator?
“Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.), whose nomination for Speaker became public just minutes before the vote, attracted the most votes at 12.
Meanwhile, the other two long-shot candidates, Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) only received three and two votes each.”
pathetic. conservatives must get organized and consolidate what little power we have around a single candidate in situations like this.
