IMHO that is what primaries are for; if Caron, or Cruz or whomever has any vulnerability tat the Bush machine can find and use then you know that it will be used against them at the most strategically opportune time in the main event (not that we don't do the same thing as well we should).
Just like the dems dodged a bullet when John Edwards blew up in the primaries; if he'd won the primary and then got hit with that scandal two days before election day VP Palin would be on her second term, perhaps.

Exactly. At first glance (and admittedly I have not looked at this in any detail) this seems to be much ado about nothing. If it’s attributed, it’s attributed. Yes, if verbatim he should use quotes, but it’s not like he was passing off this stuff as his original ideas. IMHO.
Well then he can be Vice President.
