I regularly see Steny Hoyer in McKays supermarket. He likes to show
himself as just another regular guy from Southern Maryland.
He is always accompanied by a security detail.
I have to believe it is the same for Reid. If it was Guido Treadmill that beat him up, it was with the concurrence of the secret service, or Capitol police or whomever provides congressional security.
