It will backfire but for different reasons.
It’s not viable!
It requires a high speed internet connection.
DSL not fast enough and requires a landline only made viable when bundled with phone service which more and more people are dropping using only cellphones.
High speed service through your cable company is only made affordable bundled with cable tv.
Charter service for internet only is only $30 less than all three bundled. Gotta keep renegotiating every year for a lower rate.
How is DSL not fast enough? I watch Netflix, etc. using my DSL.
I have high speed internet through my cable tv ‘provider’, (Charter). I only have internet, no phone or cable tv. I pay extra for a higher tier, costs about $45/mo, plus about $20 for Netflix. I get new blue ray dvds in the mail, the absolute best way to watch movies, imo, just about every tv show I want to watch, either streaming or ordered on disc. It helps that I’m not much of a sports fan. Our family gets Netflix on all phones, tablets, tvs and computers, and we are allowed 2 devices running at a time. We can watch streaming wherever we are.
