Likely foreshadowing the attacks to come, the influential Club for Growth warned Monday that it will make sure that voters are aware of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabees poor record on taxes and spending if he runs for president.
As Mike Huckabee weighs the pros and cons of a second presidential candidacy, he should know that the Club for Growth PAC will make sure that Republican primary voters thoroughly examine his exceptionally poor record of raising taxes and spending as governor, David McIntosh, Club for Growth president, said in a press release. In a year in which GOP voters appear likely to have several good pro-economic growth candidates to choose from, Mike Huckabees big government record would stand out from the crowd, and not in a good way.
Mr. Huckabee left his lucrative gig at Fox News over the weekend to explore the possibility of running for the 2016 GOP nomination.
The 59-year-old former Baptist minister placed second in 2008 to Arizona Sen. John McCain and would enter the race with a loyal following from born-again and evangelical Christians.
In an exclusive interview Sunday with The Washington Times, Mr. Huckabee said he wants to raise upwards of $50 million by early February before he decides whether to jump into the race.

I’m glad he’s gone from FOX, I hope they replace him with someone I’ll watch. I can’t imagine him getting any appreciable support.
The huckster has his followers....you may recall the slimeball got 35000 votes in NC AFTER he slid off to the Caymans....he said for a book signing deal.....
He has followers here.....
Huckabee won in my state. Club for Growth can go take a flying leap.
You like fake conservatives, of which Huckster is one.
Club for Growth website use to say they were not concerned with social issues, such as abortion, only fiscal issues. Looks like they changed this on their website since last election. I don’t trust them. So, I am with you, they can go take a flying leap.
I was happy that Huckabee stopped Romney in 2008. McCain at least gave us Gov. Sarah Palin. I wished Romney would have gave up running in 2008 and I hope he never runs again.
Romney ran twice, the second time against Obama. Two losses do not a winner make. If he runs again and gets the nomination, we are doomed. So far, there are no candidate except for Scott Walker who excite me.
wow, I wouldn’t admit to being a huckster follower...maybe he can bring Common Core to your state, and let murderers go in your state, and spout class envy rhetoric in your state.
Huck’s no conservative...sorry you missed that.
yes, but they’re very few. They’re not sophisticated or learned. They just see him and his social conservative views and assume he’s conservative over all.
35K in NC is nothing. It’s a rounding error.
OMG......you don’t understand what he’s doing at all.
And screw knowing how government works...that’s our problem, is we align our lives with how government works. The Founders would be appalled. Gov should align itself with how WE work.
I’m no Mitt follower by any stretch, but Huckabee only “topped” Romney because he stayed in the whole time even with no chance. Romney dropped out the minute he knew he couldn’t win it.
Then again, Mitt was not auditioning for a Fox News gig....Huckster was.
I don’t know who I will vote for in the primary yet but I hope and pray Romney does not run for the 3rd time. Gov Walker looks good. We have some good candidates running.
2016 is going to be an exciting year. We must beat the Hildebeast@!
This alone makes him ineligible as far as I’m concerned.
Perhaps you missed that I objected to Huck’s BIGOTED MOTIVES....
No, I noticed how you felt. I was glad he did not win in
2004. He was pretty nasty to Sarah Palin. I did, however,
vote for him against Obama, but he was not my choice.
2008
I forgot about that aspect (cop killing) of the murders in context of what happend with DeBlasio, Obama and Sharpton.
