You do the crime you do the time and what comes with it. I like this law a lot. If you get one DUI, you should lose your driving privileges for life. Unfortunately our country is so soft and we need our rights.....spit.
Heck, why not call for the electric chair?
Seems to me that the logical response would be to try and give the first-time offender an attitude adjustment... license suspension for a period. Then, if someone doesn't learn and re-offends, ramp up the harshness of the punishment.
Lose your license for life? Are you insane? DUI/DWI’s have turned into a huge cash cow for all involved...safety is not the issue no matter what you think, it is how much money they can dredge out someone nothing more. The fact that roadblocks are now the norm is because of persons such as yourself who honestly believe it is done purely for the protection of society. If any people who should be barred for life are illegals who have driven here since they invaded...now we are subsidizing the leeches probably with funds from dui cases...no way can I agree with your outlook.
