The other problem we are facing is the Federal police state. We know there are problems - that the organization set up to go after Islamic terrorists have turned on the American public. But we do nothing to design and advocate for change.

I can tell you've thought about this Sara... do you have some working ideas on how we could successfully advocate for change?

The language has to be changed to permit homeland insecurity to only pursue Islamic terrorists with the extra-constitutional powers created to do that after 911. Although the government has defined just about everyone a terrorist, there is really only one kind of terrorist that applies to the post 911 legislation.

With each bill being unread and a thousand pages long, I have no idea of how to fix it. That is why we have think tanks and elected representatives to analyze these matters. But we don’t seem to have any. Who knows what the heck the heritage foundation is doing and all the libertarian think tanks as well. We need to limit the power of ATF but I don’t have the legislation to propose for that reform and neither does anyone else, including the NRA who can afford to hire analysts to write legislation for reform.

Obama’s policy of giving war equipment to police stations has to stop. Police officers are not an occupying force. They do not need war equipment.

All I can do is what I have done, and that is write letters to my representatives in Congress. It seems we have no real power structure outside the government like the Dems have anymore.
