Here’s Gohmert’s announcement
5:17 Minutes
Gohmert Announces Run for Speaker of the House
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WIJr-1ZJ5s
Sorry about the double scrambled post - not sure how that happened (shaky hands ‘cause I’m so excited??).
Louie’s announcement coming back up on FNC soon.
Face the Nation - Yikes, I’ll pass
ABC could be good this week - usually don’t watch it but I might this week, if I get back from my sister’s in time.
Also, as you point out, ABC has only Republicans so somewhere a DUer is probably ranting in full moonbat glory about how the DNC Media is supposed to stick to the script and promote democrats only... Then again, Georgie might be up for a little “gotcha” like when he asked the 2012 Presidential candidate Republicans why they opposed birth control (note—they didn't; but the dems saw a chance to conflate anti-abortion with anti-birth control to push the Republican War on Women...)
Read your breaking news post. Are you in Dave Reichert’s district?
Good morning everyone,
Happy New Year from Denver too. 2015 should be an interesting year, as Louie Gohmert proved already this morning on FNC.
Thanks, as always, to AB for the thread posting. For you, Rodguy, I’m still expecting you to be here in Denver during the winter. Wear shorts.
Morning AB, All.
Thank you yon readers for your input on this thread and thank you muchly AB for your devotion to this post every week.
Goodness, two of mine congress people on Face the Nation .Chris Coons .heh, from Delaware and Elijah Cummings from Merryland.
Happy New Year to all, may 2015 be better than 2014.
Got up at 4:30 am in the morning Friday night. Seems my Muncheussen daughter called 911 and had them take her to the emergency room. This is the THIRD week in a row. But goodness, ER’s are wonderful things and she loves to spend the night there.
ONLY THEY KICKED HER OUT!
God I don’t want to laugh but she went because she had a headache, I am not making this up. They said she was dehydrated and rehydrated her. She fell asleep because she adores the emergency room and just wanted to sleep there for the night. They woke her up and told her she can catch a shuttle bus but it was time to go home.
She had no choice but to call me and I hated it, hated it, hated it. I am retired, in my 60’s. I thought my old age would be spent at home, especially in the middle of the night, safe. I despised opening up that creaky garage door so early in the am, driving to the emergency room in the dark and chill wet rain. But I couldn’t just leave her there.
She was mortified, as well she should have been.
2015 is the year I do something, something BIG, about this. There’s a whole huge community of people doing this stuff and watch 60 Minutes or Dr. Phil.
Cause I got some legal people and shrink people working with me on this and I’m going to blow it wide open.
Anyway .it’s a good story but I’d rather be reading about it than living it.
Making roasted garlic today .my favorite.
Oh, and I decided to make my annual contribution to FreeRepublic because you never get a virus on FreeRepublic, it’s easy to follow, it’s really nice not to be attacked by ads everytime you just want to see what’s in the news.
Welcome back! Bray is still busy celebrating his Ducks victory over the ‘Noles... Sorry!
You got that right! Free Republic is amazing when you stop to think about it and compare it to any other news site--even Drudge!
You make some good points (as you always do).
Yes, I’m in Dave’s district (only Pub rep in the Seattle-metro area). We only have 4 Pubbies out of 10 Reps from WA State, besides Dave, one is from SW WA and the other 2 are from Eastern WA (conservative side of the state).
re. Corker
Former Car Czar Rattner agrees: Now is the perfect time to raise gas tax
Steven Rattner @SteveRattner · Jan 2
Now is exactly the time to raise the gasoline tax. @SenBobCorker should be commended for his
stance http://nyti.ms/1xnVqxa
EXCERPTS
If something like this is going to be done, now is the time to do it, said Bob Corker, a Republican senator, who noted that gas prices in his home state of Tennessee fell below $2 a gallon this month. Senator Corker and Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, unveiled a proposal in June to raise the gas tax by 12 cents a gallon over the next two years and then index further increases to inflation.
(snip)
Senator Corker, who has tried to appease deficit hawks by proposing to reduce other taxes in exchange for a rise in the gas tax, said his plan would probably get caught up in negotiations about broader tax reform when the Republicans take control of both houses.
The leadership is going to want the finance committee to come up with a larger package, he said, adding that he was open to all sorts of options except a short-term fix. The one thing Im going to rail against is to kick the can down the road.
That’s actually pretty good, all things considered. Next time I’m up there, Ill try to spend most of my money there. I see your district doesn’t includes Bellevue, where I usually stay. Maybe I’ll look into a hotel in Issaquah next time!
I hope that someday, more and more Microsoft, Nintendo and Boeing people will realize just how bad the democrats are for their businesses and therefore livelihoods...
Geesh! Corker needs HIS can kicked down the road!
Can’t you let the little people enjoy some economic relief, Bob?
Taxed Enough Already spells the acronym TEA as in TEA Party.
