Levin’s efforts to have a State’s Constitutional Convention will produce far more true conservative change.

But realize that the biggest group against this effort is the John Birch people.

The power MUST be returned to the States. The 17th Amendment must be repealed and remove the billionaire Boys Club that is the Senate. Put this closer to the people in the States they are to represent. Not the Saudis, the multinationalists and the ultra world libs.

Levin’s quixotic quest for a “states’ constitutional convention” is one of the most dangerous ideas that ever has come out of the conservative movement. Is Levin so naïve as to ignore the fact that liberals will hijack the process and approve amendments that would destroy our way of life? Liberals will come up with some amendment that sounds pretty and get it approved at the states’ conventions (which will be chock full of liberals pretending to be conservatives), and then apply inordinate pressure on state legislatures to get them ratified.

As for having state legislatures electing U.S. Senators, it would result in a more liberal, not more conservative, Senate. For example, Ted Cruz beat out TX RINO Lt. Governor David Dewhurst in the GOP primary precisely because it is the voters, not the politicians, that elect Senators. Dewhurst was supported by just about every Republican state legislator (GOP state senators didn’t dare oppose Dewhurst, given that he wielded great power as president of the state senate), and even if 60% of Republican legislators would have voted for Cruz it still would have resulted in a Dewhurst election (given tbat Democrat legislators would have preferred him to the co servative Cruz). And TX is just one example: In just about every state legislature, the U.S. Senators elected would be either RINOs or Democrats. With the popular vote, Republican primary voters can nominate, and then elect, a Ron Johnson in WI or a Mike Lee in UT, which never cod occur if we repealed the 17th Amendment.

If the Democrats sent a mole to get a conservative radio show, he couldn’t do more damage to the conservative movement as Levin has done in the past few years. It’s a shame that such an intelligent and knowledgeable person as Levin has turned into such a liability for American constitutional conservatism.
