i remember the great quake of 97 when all the people of california surfed to denver..../robin williams bit
hahaha the 89 Quake in the bay area only FELT like we might just end up doing some “cross country surfing?
Born and raised in California but now living in Arizona, I kinda miss the occasional earthquake. Not the big killer Northridge or Symlar-type quakes, but the occasional shake, rattle or roll. It gives you a really good reminder of how fragile life is, and how small we are and how much we are at the mercy of things bigger than us, especially God, who created this speck of dust we live on.
Indeed. The enormity of something like an earthquake should alert even the most calloused as to Gods power.
5+ quakes are routine for the Gorda Plate region.
Thanks.
Don’t need a quake for that..... just go to the seashore or find the nearest waterfall
as I watch the fog ib the morning over nearby Mt Tamalpais...Im always reminded of who is responsible for same.
Day after day, more people come to L... A.
Don’t you tell anybody, the whole place’s shaking away
Where can we go, when there’s no San Francisco?
Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho
Where can we go, when there’s no San Diego
Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho
Do you know the swim, you better learn quick Jim
Those who don’t know the swim, better sing the hymn
Amen and Amen!
‘89 was seriously scary.
I was in San Jose at the time.
I was In San Anselmo driving in fairly heavy two lane traffic..in a VW conertible......everybody stopped...but there was no way to protect form anything that MIGHT have fallen...
I realize that earthquakes some 20mi miles away seldom topple trees or power poles.... but I wasnt that rational for those first few moments..
Thought Ferndale is a northern suburb of Detroit. Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman!
Indeed....Mt tam shrouded is spectacular....Mt. Tam and Muir Woods one of my favorite hikes
I believe that may have been Fernwood..
when the clouds are hanging in the valleys on both sides of the ridge..its as close as it gets here...to heaven.
Uh...Global Warming. Microaggression? Somebody give me a hand here.
true words well said
It was a big sigh of relief from all the chickens when they saw their new digs.
