Cap and Tax on a national basis was a liberal’s dream.
Tons of money for the government and all the blame for rising energy prices would be placed (by the MSM) on greedy utilities and oil companies.

The problem with it on a state basis is folks will look across the border and notice it ain’t happening elsewhere.

And remember, we haven't committed to make any carbon cuts for 30 years, so in the meantime, just buy from us. Thanks California!

Can someone in California please post yesterday’s cost for a gallon of regular and today’s cost? Thanks. I have told several California friends this was going to happen but they didn’t believe me.

So basically the ‘cap and trade’ portion of the tax has been turned into a giant slush fund and noone is supervising it.

What is wrong with legislators that they think poor people can pay $1.25 per gallon in taxes?

And then, there’s all the public agencies that buy gas for vehicles and pass that cost on to the taxpayer, so the taxpayer is hit twice - once at the pumps and again on tax day.

Rather than let the economy enjoy low gas prices for the first time in years, these clowns are falling all over each other trying to jack the price back up with taxes on the state and federal levels. And when the price of gasoline goes back up, and it will, those taxes will still be there. It’s greed plain and simple and it’s insanity.
