I take it that you are not in favor of building more refineries so we could export a more expensive product?

I am not in favor of government selection of winners and losers in industry.

We currently export surplus refined product and that is great.

I think the more the government tries to manipulate industry, the more “damage” is done to industry, making us less competitive in the long run.

For specific examples:

I am not in favor of government imposing an import tariff on crude oil, for it harms our refining and petrochemical industries.

I am not in favor of banning export of crude oil while allowing export of petroleum products, because it harms our oil production industry.
