It’s not the “office” attending the funeral, it’s the steaming turd occupying the “office”. That phrase is a meaningless ploy to maintain some semblance of respect for asshole office holders who deserve no respect and who show no respect for the responsibilities of the office they hold.
They always play the hypocrites’ game of demanding “respect for the office”, which they themselves have previously disdained to show, when it was to their advantage. The left thrives on disrespect, except when it’s against them.
