I was looking up the Shinshu Maru landing ship recently. Apparently it was sunk along with three other transports and a minesweeper by torpedoes from Cruisers Fubuki and Mogami in shallow water in Bantam Bay. They were all raised I think. The IJN fired around 90 torpedoes at Houston, Perth and the destroyers so there were a lot of misses. Since you are on the scene so to speak I would defer to you on most of this stuff. I am just an amateur admiral who is 500 miles from an ocean😊

I wouldn’t defer to me on matters maritime, the closest I get to the sea is looking at the breakers from the deckchair on my porch, muttering “big waves today” as I shuffle over to the fridge to get another beer.

There are plenty of local fishermen who will take you out into the strait to visit Krakatoa volcano or look at the site of one of the wrecks (the Dutch ship Evertsen which beached on an island in the middle of the Sunda Strait), but, well you know, it’s Indonesia, transportation safety isn’t a priority so I kinda never got around to it.
