Maybe he got the idea that it would be better to land in Belitung and tried it. Unfortunately he missed.

Maybe this pilot was trying to pull a Sully since this particular Airbus is the same model as the one that Sully landed on the Hudson..I think the crash site is in Belitung or somewhere in that area..very sad just hoping that survivors are found
