It’s probabaly a safe bet that there will be no bills pushing conservative reform of legal immigration. A sane GOP would be looking to reduce legal immigration. They would end extended family chain migration. They would abolish Ted Kennedy’s absurd Diversity Lottery Visas. They would severely restrict refugee and asylum visas. They would try to halt or at least slow the immigration-driven demographic shift of the United States towards the left.

But a sane GOP would have done all of this long ago, so there really isn’t much to hope for now.

A sane GOP would be focused on preserving the Constitution and working to put an end to executive fiat. The problem is that we absurdly ignore the real problem and play up the phony reasoning behind it. They say ‘Obama is only doing this because nothing has been done.’ Well nothing has been done precisely because the American people don’t want the changes they (Obama, dems and the Republican elite establishment) want to make. They take the attention away from the real problems, they’re not listening to us, enforcing the laws or doing the will of we the people and they place the attention on their phony concern — amnesty is the only solution and has to be given by the govt. someway, some how.

We need to stop playing up their phony concerns and focus on actual problem, both parties have decided that the Constitution is no longer relevant and believe that they should be able to bend the laws and shape them as they see fit.

Yes, you are correct. In the early 20th century immigration was halted in response to public outcry.

Today the public can protest all they want. It will not change anything. There are actions that can stop Obama’s executive actions and congressional actions. The former can be halted in days while the latter in a year at best.
