This will end badly for the world. When “Palestine” is recognized, then alliances and treaties will be written with other nations to defend “Palestine”, drawing in other nations to do battle with Israel.”
Before WW1 that entangling series of treaties was intended to make war impossible. It was intended as a sword of Damocles to hang over the Germans. I don’t know for certain the wording of modern treaties is but if they’re anything like the regular government gibberish they won’t promise the signers will go to war. I think everybody learned from the great war. There will be lots of behind the scenes “help” but it will likely be economic. I don’t see, for example, Russia committing troops against Israel.
Having said that, I confess to a sense of alarm that Obama is now authorized by Congress to directly aid Ukraine. For all the Left’s supposed nuance they strike me as naïve children playing with real weapons.

I would disagree. The purpose of my original statement was to infer that the world is on the same path as existed before WWI. Other nations got sucked into a bloody mess over disagreements between tiny nations, because of alliances. There are plenty of historians who are advisors to "leaders", but not all "leaders" listen to wise counsel. We need to look no further than our own "leader", Obama, who goes against wise counsel selling out our military and friend nations while seeking friendship with our enemies.
Money and resources are the key behind great wars. You don't see Russia committing troops. Yet Russia is in economic turmoil, and that can greatly influence her ties with arab nations. If Russia stirs the pot in the Middle East and shuts off the oil spigot, then she will prosper from higher costs of lessened supplies of oil. Remember, the U.S.A. shut off the Germans and Japanese from resources prior to WWII and they didn't like that at all. Too many people wish for peace but don't understand "leaders" mentality and why they rush to war. I truly believe a great war is coming, and it will shock many who thought never again would it happen.
