It would be the height of churlishness for even the most inveterate leftist to deny the import of someone who made Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People" list, and then the Smithsonian Institution's "100 Most Significant Americans Of All Time" list. Both affirmations were earned by former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
To then accept Governor Palin as "American Achiever of the Year 2014" would be for most, if not all on the left (and to be fair, many in the GOP) no doubt a bridge too far. However, such partisanship should not stand in the way of a general acknowledgement of what was a remarkable year for Palin.
Palin achieved what such luminaries as President Obama did not: a place in the Smithsonian's prestigious "Most Significant" list. After being written off by many in the media, and especially the left, as "irrelevant" and predicted by MSNBC's Krystal Ball as "not going to have an effect on the [2014] midterms," Palin's record of success of her endorsed candidates was nothing short of phenomenal.
Governor Palin endorsed 22 candidates for various offices during the midterm finals, including senators, governors, lieutenant governors, congressmen, and attorneys general. Of those so endorsed, an incredible 20 were elected contrasted with, for example, Hillary Clinton's record of 8 wins out 24 endorsed candidates.
Beyond the success of her endorsed candidates lies a much deeper reason for Palin being seen as "Achiever of the Year": those Palin endorsed in their respective primaries who then went on to win the general election battles....

Quite simply, I love her.
btw—I’m not a guy. I just think she is one classy woman.
Sarah has certainly impacted my life in a way I never thought possible.
Truly Inspiring.
I direct people to my tagline :)
Build the America you want to live in at your address, and keep looking up.- Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin: living rent-free in the liberal’s heads since 2008.
My daughter got me a signed copy of her last geek for Christmas last year. (I finally read it this week and highly recommend it.)
While in line in Michigan to meet Sarah, my daughter called as asked what she should say. I told her to ask Sarah to endorse Dan Bongino for his maryland congressional run.
Since we were several states away, my daughter said it took a second then Sarah and Todd both got big smiles and said how much they liked Dan. Sadly, he ran in a heavily gerrymandered district and was one of the two who lost. Barely. It took days to declare the winner.
Wow, how does the word Book become Geek?
If a liberal Democrat were that successful at endorsements, it’s all you’d see from the New York Times, Politico, MSNBC, WaPo, Huffington and all the rest.
You were probably referring to me. LOL
Cruz/Palin 2016 ticket?
Deserves every bit of it.
Both working towards the same goal.
The United States of America is a Constitutional Republic.
Benjamin Franklin
Quotes by This Author
The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy? With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, A republic, if you can keep it. BTW, I am a guy and I still think she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And so does my wife. Plain-spoken, down to earth, one of the regular people not the elite. She would make a great president but the political landscape would have to change before she could ever be elected. The left has besmirched, ridiculed and hated her so much in print and on TV that she has become a divisive figure.
If she ran for office, any office, tomorrow, I would vote for her in a heartbeat. She's my gal.
Nah, Palin/Cruz ;-)
I’m a Palin fan, but among the 100 most influential Americans in 250 years of history? I don’t think so.
The Smithsonian seemed to think so.
Take a look at their methodology:
Sarah Palin was a sitting governor, and at that time, before the Obama campaign and their allies in the press spent months relentlessly smearing her good name, she had the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country.
Sarah held progressively higher office; she has many years executive management experience at local, regional and state levels and has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people.
She was a fiscal conservative who made the largest veto cuts in Alaska history, reined in the reckless waste, cut her own expenses, sold the governors private jet, let the personal chef go, and put away billions of dollars in savings for Alaska for a rainy day.
She was a tough CEO who went toe to toe with the Big Oil companies and fought to get the best deal for Alaskans, the resource owners she represented.
Taking on corruption and crony capitalism has always been a cornerstone of Sarah Palin’s agenda; in Alaska she did take on the old-boy network the oil companies and her own party. As oil and gas commissioner, Sarah Palin called out the unethical practices of members of her own party. As Governor, she sought to end the back room deals and improper relationships between oil companies and politicians.
And she did all of this as a woman from a modest background who was entirely self-made without the benefit of a rich or influential father or husband. All of Sarah Palin’s success was due entirely to her own hard work and intelligence.
Sarah Palin’s spot in history is earned by her standing up to bad Republicans as well as Democrats. In order to halt the abuse inflicted by the liberal faction, she resigned from the governorship.
Now she leads the only constitutional movement alive in this nation.
She’s earned this rating.
New, and overwhelmingly elected, USA President Sarah Palin discussing the latest military options with her hand picked Secretary of Defense, Boss Jim, regarding the soon to be exterminated muslim terrorist training camps in America. The current campaign, (Operation ‘Allah Ackbar this beyotches.....’), is only in it’s first 6 hours, but both President Palin and Boss Jim see the entire mop up to be 100% complete by this afternoon. When asked where the muslim terrorist POW’s were to be held Boss Jim replied: “Huh? POW’s?... Well, heh, their doesn’t seem to be any of ‘em, heh.”
