<>I have a client . . .<>
The free market encourages honesty and fair trade. Whatever your profession is, does not.
You can get homemade tamales everywhere here, year round-here in BFE there are no tamale nannies, and most people make them. A friend and I used to make dozens every year at this time for family dinners, but we haven’t since our kids are grown up.
How petty you sound. If someone wants to buy the beautiful wedding cake made by a home baker, that is none of your business or the state’s business.
The problem with Americans is that they have weak immune systems from overly-sanitized surroundings from birth, which makes them more susceptible to food poisoning than previous generations were.
. The state basically comes at you with a gun”
Government in a nutshell.
Probably for selling raw milk. There are several organic milk commercial buyers. What the government/food industry does not want is the direct sell, raw milk producer.
Raw milk has incredible benefits that cooked milk does not have. But, the producer and consumer are one more step out of nanny’s oversight.
This cast iron pan should not be washed EVER! I have had arguments with roommates in th past for washing my prized (and nicely seasoned) cast iron pans.
You are so right-I’ve seen people who practically live in a bubble and rub down arms and hands with sanitizer constantly-when I worked as a case manager, we called that obsessive compulsive behavior...
Don’t forget the overuse of antibiotics from the cradle, not to mention a drug for just about every little thing on just about every other commercial on TV-those commercials are often followed by one from a legal firm telling you if you took that drug, call their office-shouldn’t that tell people maybe this is not such a great idea?
Some people thought my family was a bunch of country naturenuts to be so into a totally drug-free lifestyle since who knows how long, but we are still healthy and they catch every errant germ. Of course it would help if people kept their kids at home when they are sneezing-I always thought it was prudent to do that...
All of that regulation came with the FOOD SAFETY ACT OF 2010, AND will be coming to a Farmers Market near you too.
Sal Monella sells food from an un-inspected home kitchen. So do Pto Main and Lis Teria.
Whole vegetables from gardens without inspections are much safer if fully cooked.
Drive through Pacoima sometime, Food Trucks setup restaurants everyday in the same places on the sidewalk. You can drive through the neighborhood and find at least a dozen so-called restaurants in peoples front yards, they sell food out of their kitchens all over around here. Most of it looks just like Revolution Blvd in Tijuana.
‘Tester Amendment’ was passed when?
Yes, for raw milk, and by God I agree about my cast Iron pans!
Thanks. My Farmers Market probably does more than half-million in sales per year....overall.
Over the years we find out favorite places...and make our own when need be.
There are a few more details, IIRC. More than half of the produce should be sold within a 400-mile radius, and the small farmer should have documentation showing compliance with local and state regulations. Anyone who needs to do so should double-check those details with an Internet search.
I understand that in Virginia, speeding is a capital offense too! “Have a radar detector, go to jail!” All these Eastern Seaboard States that were the so-called Cradle of Liberty, somehow don’t believe in it any longer. Oh well, at least their LEO’s wear uniforms that would make Adolph HItler proud what with the Nazi-era headgear and the leather chest belts! No wonder they get shot at!
They have a lot going on there, the big farm outlets, then the inside businesses....Amish food, and I love to go there...so much good stuff.
