It looks like the officer dropped his weapon while he was rapidly backing up after firing the shots, as you can see the weapon skidding across the parking lot toward the gas pumps, and the officer just keeps on backing up until he gets near the street, leaving his weapon on the ground between the suspects and himself. It looks like a justified shoot, but the officer needs to go back to school on how to handle himself in such situations because YOU DON’T LEAVE YOUR WEAPON!

That’s what it looked like all right. I had read or heard last night that the cop fell backward after he fired his gun but the only video we were given at the time didn’t show that. Glad this video put that in perspective but why on earth did the cop fall backward after firing his own weapon? I’ve heard of and experienced guns having kicks but nothing like that and I’m a female.
I don’t understand the report that the two had just robbed a store either. The same two who just strolled up to the police car as tho’ they didn’t have a care in the world??
