Last week more than 200 people waited outside a Toledo area mall to get their hands on a limited edition of Air Jordan shoes. Toledo police had to set up barricades for the large crowd but some of shoppers pushed through the barricades, even knocking down some officers. Police were forced to deploy pepper spray balls to control the unruly crowd.

Well... they are mass produced in overseas sweat shops to keep the labor down. The don't last long , look like some gay male designer's idea of 'flashy', and don't do a thing for your feet.

The whole idea is that a celebrity(sport) endorses the shoes, and they are brought to the US and sold at high prices for high profit margins.

In the end, it is about a culture that believes flashy material objects will bring them happiness.

Either the SHOES must be banned, because they cause violence.

We need STRICTER gun control, so that people won't shoot someone over SHOES.

We need to have WHITE people stop shooting persons of color when they try to steal SHOES.

OR, we could go full truthiness, and say: gosh, my life isn't WORTH a pair of SHOES, nor is it worth stealing anything.
