Lib Californians are coming here to change us to purple and soon blue. It starts at the local level and then moves up. I certainly don’t see any conservatives. Businesses move in due to the perks and lower taxes. They are causing housing prices to rise which in turn causes property taxes to skyrocket. More schools are needed. More roads are needed. More medical care is needed. More, more, more and we’re having to pay for it.
“Lib Californians are coming here to change us to purple and soon blue. “
And you’re absolutely sure they are a) Californians and b) they are “Libs? I can imagine a few showing up around Austin with all the semiconductor businesses there along with your legislature, but I would be surprised to find the average Californian interested in trading their lifestyle here for Texas. I know I turned down a “promotion” to Texas in the 1970’s and I am glad I did because there would have been no way back because housing there wasn’t appreciating like it always has here. And there wasn’t even any way to “invest” everything I would have gotten out of our home here, in Texas.
Funny thing about your description because that’s just what happened here in California back in the 50’s & 60’s when I was in high school. There wasn’t a DemoRAT legislator anywhere to be seen except in San Francisco itself. In the East Bay, where I grew up, it was solid R. Now only for the first time in about 15 years do we have a Republican Assemblywoman. And I don’t have even one US Senator to whom I can write ( except to tell one or the other of the two Yentas we have to f—k off!
