She’s guilty of being genuinely involved in the lives of her students —they LIKE her, and she likes them.
That’s considerably better than 80% of public high-school teachers.
My teacher did this for us and we freaking LOVED her —she was deeply conservative and gave it to us, straight.

Teachers have no business trying to be involved in student lives outside of class.

she is a government employee who is an authority figure and needs to be held accountable, her job has a specific function and this was not it.
Sorry, but if I were a parent, I would not want some stranger taking my child anywhere without my permission.
I’m with you! I love teachers who still have a little bit of child inside. Obviously her kids loved her.
She’ll find a good job at a private school.
If I was one of the kids that got to ride in the trunk of the teachers car....talk about popularity!
I think I’ll have to agree with you. The students, especially in the trunk, probably thought they were out on a lark. We use to take the teachers cars down town on errands for them. It was great.
