Lt. Colonel Tony Shaffer, author of The Last Line, and Ret. Col. David Hunt joined Bill O’Reilly to give an update on the Bowe Bergdahl prisoner swap. Lt. Colonel Shaffer told Bill the Obama administration paid $5 billion and released five top Taliban Gitmo detainees in exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl.

Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, who was part of the negotiations, told Bill O’Reilly the US paid out $5 billion and traded five top Taliban detainees for Bergdahl.
Bill O’Reilly: Let me just stop you. There were three trade scenarios, there were three things they could have done. You were involved to try to work that out to some extent?
Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer: Not all of them involved trade. One of them essentially was a direct action. One of them involved my aspect, which was not again a trade. It was something working the issue. And, obviously the one the president went with was the $5 billion to Qatar and the trade of the five Taliban.
O’Reilly: Are you surprised this report… Why hasn’t been released? The Pentagon, they’re not supposed to be political.
Lt. Col. Shaffer: Bill, I understand General Dahl, the investigating officer did an incredible job… I understand he confirmed what was in previous report… Effectively, he deserted.

ABC News reports:
Obama administration officials repeatedly threatened the family of murdered journalist James Foley that they might face criminal charges for supporting terrorism if they paid ransom to the ISIS killers who ultimately beheaded their son, his mother and brother said this week.
“We were told that several times and we took it as a threat and it was appalling,” Foley’s mother Diane told ABC News in an interview.
She said the warnings over the summer came primarily from a highly decorated military officer serving on the White House’s National Security Council staff, which five outraged current and former officials with direct knowledge of the Foley case also recounted to ABC News in recent weeks.
“Three times he intimidated us with that message. We were horrified he would say that. He just told us we would be prosecuted. We knew we had to save our son, we had to try,” Diane Foley said.
That just seems like a real lot of money, or supplies, or whatever.
$5 million? Yeah, I would OK that for a troop. Speaking hypothetically, of course. This particular troop—not so much.
$5 Billion? Nope. Too much. And not because a US Soldier is not worth bringing home, but you can only imaging where that money is going. Nothing good will come of that.
How many decent surface to air missiles will that buy? How many car bombs? Dirty bombs? Bio Weapons?

I’m afraid we haven’t seen nuthin yet from obama, compared to what he will do in the next 2 years. I say 2 years even though I don’t expect him to leave at the end of 2 years.
