There can be a real problem, to wit a tiny minority of men who actually are sexual predators and lace young women’s drinks with amnestic drugs so as to conveniently rape them. The reason they don’t bring forward cases of this sort is not that they don’t exist, but that they don’t serve the agenda of expanding the notion of rape to include drunken sex the woman regrets after the fact, turning all women into victims (and thereby secular analogues of saints), and expanding the power of the state or of feminist university administrators.
The real problem is conveniently addressed by existing laws, though perhaps additional resources to process rape kits for useful forensic evidence might be needed. (But actually effectively enforcing old traditional laws like that against rape as properly defined has never been high on the left’s agenda.)
