A spokesperson for the Treasury Department told the Washington Free Beacon that survival kits being ordered for government workers at every major bank in the United States are for emergency preparedness.
.......The solicitation is to replace aging kits and provide kits at additional location out of a preponderance of caution, Collins added.
Once the government finds a bidder, each of OCCs 3,814 employees will receive a survival kit, which will come in a fanny-pack or backpack that can fit all of the items, including a 33-piece personal first aid kit with decongestant tablets, a variety of bandages, and medicines.
The Treasury Department extended the deadline for proposals until Dec. 22, and is planning on spending up to $200,000.

It’s almost as if they *know* something is going to happen...isn’t it?
I wonder what percentage of the people who receive these kits will simply throw it in the back of their closet and forget about it?
I would guess at least 50%.
The idea that gear will save you is pervasive in our society. Very few understand knowledge and determination get you thru, everything else is a tool.
Ohhhh decongestant tablets LOL! Eat those when you are hungry!
why just for bank employees?
“The idea that gear will save you is pervasive in our society. “
I guess I can dump my guns and ammo ...
gear will save you
Gear is useless unless you know how to use it and use it regularly to maintain proficiency.
These kits are for government bank auditors, not bank employees
I see reading comprehension isnt your strong suit...
And we see here again, someone knows...
“These kits are for government bank auditors, not bank employees”
Thank goodness our government is looking out for these vital workers.
Knowing .Gov bidding and procurement like I did, a contractor already got the nod before the bidding was announced - the announcment is simply to comply with “fair business practices”.
Which means, they already had a timetable that they had to have the equipment sets by, and someone said they could make good.
Someone somewhere knows what and when...
These are for replacement kits that have been in n place for the past ten years. There is no conspiracy. There is no plan. This is pretty normal.
You don’t have emergency kits in your offices? If the company doesn’t provide one, you should make your own. After being stuck for a couple of days in a blizzard you would want one.
They are almost always on the road.
“I see reading comprehension isnt your strong suit...”
I see you are thin-skinned with no sense of humor ...
someone knows not because they watch things happen, but because they make things happen
So am I. What’s your point?
I could go to the Dollar Store and make 3,814 “emergency first aid kits” for about $5 each. Which is probably what some minority run enterprise is doing, and pocketing $180,000 US dollars in profit on this govt contract
