Is Jeb Bush Too Liberal To Win The Republican Nomination In 2016?
FiveThirtyEight ^ | December 16, 2014 | Nate Silver

On Tuesday, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush announced that he will “actively explore” a bid for the White House. While Bush has not yet formed a presidential exploratory committee, he’s “running” for president by any practical definition of the term. If he proves to perform poorly in the “invisible primary,” failing to gather support among donors and influential Republicans, he could withdraw later on, before the first votes are cast in Iowa.

What might those influential Republicans think of Bush? He has sometimes been critical of his fellow Republicans, having questioned the GOP’s partisanship and lack of tolerance for dissenting viewpoints. He has also staked out moderate policy positions on some issues, particularly immigration and education reform.

No, of course not.

Control of the process is in the hands of liberals, he's virtually certain to be the Republican nominee.

For those of you still clinging to the GOP Fantasy, I'm sorry.

The GOP would rather lose an election than allow Cruz be the nominee.

There isn’t a thing conservative about him.

No to anyone other than a Conservative. I really won’t participate in the gop-e ruse of yet another RINO.

In answer to the question, yes. When Jeb says he wants to return the American dream, he means he wants more illegals to come and plunder our riches. The boy has a one track mind, and that track runs up from our southern border, straight to the royal privilege of Washington.

Personally, G W Bush was the right man for the job during 9/11...I cannot imagine Al Gore...

GW Bush was the worst war leader in the history of the United States.

Yes, Gore would have been worse, but the question of why the choices before the voters are so bad is an important one.

If Jeb wins the primary, the Republican party should change its symbol from an Elephant to a Rhino.

” Roughly 31 percent of Republican primary voters describe themselves as moderate or liberal, potentially enough to leave Bush as one of two or three remaining viable nominees after the first few states vote in 2016.”

Do away with open primaries and those dumba$$ caucuses and that 31% goes back to the libtard primaries where it belongs!

Considering the influence of the media and GOP establishment, it’s possible he may not be liberal enough. We need to know how low he scores on the official McCain-o-meter.

A passive do nothing Republican is not necessarily a non-conservative. He is just passive do nothing Republican from the Chamber of Commerce.

The way the machine is rigged, he could probably get the nomination by outspending competitors to eliminate them early in the game. So he could well get the nomination.

But he will NOT get elected. Dole, McCain and Romney were moderates who supposedly appealed to middle of the roaders - but the base stayed home.

They will for Bush, too.

Yes, yes, yes.

The Bushes are the GOP half of the elitists managing the big government statist duopoly that thinks IT runs the country.

We are all entitled to our opinion, because the last time I looked there was still some free speech. No need to go into the reasons I feel that way, as most people have their minds made up about G W Bush....ALL Presidents make mistakes, but I would trade ZERO for him in a minute.

I don’t disagree on the choices issue.
