Animal lovers in Spain have reacted with fury after a young donkey, held in a pen as part of a Nativity scene, died after being sat on. The donkey, named Platero, was being held in the town of Lucena, in the Cordoba province, as part of their annual Christmas celebrations.

Two days later the donkey was unable to stand, and was taken to the vet's where had to be put down.

Local news. That’s all this is. This should be a hilarious little story to be repeated in local bars for the rest of history. People should point at the donkey killer when he walks down the street and laugh at him. It’s just a town drunk story. We’ve all heard them. Everything is so “worldwide” anymore.
