The things you need to cover up about RFK and his brothers would fill a library.

There is no evidence that Yuri Nosenko ever interviewed or had any contact with Lee Harvey Oswald. Nosenko failed numerous polygraphs over the years, indicating that many of his answers (even to routine background questions) were deceptive. Nosenko’s CIA handler went to his grave a few months ago insisting that Nosenko was a double agent.

So, not only did Maddow omit the inconvenient fact of RFK’s involvement in Nosenko’s detention, she didn't even get the facts straight about Nosenko.

In the custody of the Soviet division, Nosenko received the treatment his fellow Russians received in the gulag. There were scant meals of weak tea and gruel, a single bare light burning twenty-four hours a day, no human companionship.

Three years of isolated confinement is abusive (if it is accurate that he was isolated in a bright room for 3 solid years). NASA does experiments on willing subjects to see how they handle months of being cooped up.

However the gulags had labor punishments and more violent torture mechanisms.

I doubt the KGB set subjects in rooms for 3 years of isolation (apart from body searches and questioning).
