Rights: No longer fearing electoral revenge from the National Rifle Association, an outgoing Democratic Senate pushed to confirm an anti-Second Amendment radical, who thinks guns are a health issue, as the nation's top doc.
A Democratic Senate that earlier balked at the nomination of Dr. Vivek Murthy to be surgeon general of the U.S. no longer feared the possible electoral consequences of approving him in the wake of November's Republican tsunami.
That, along with the GOP's obsession to not be blamed for a government shutdown, gave us a bad budget deal and the Democrats a chance to confirm Murthy.
A brief rebellion over immigration led by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, interrupted the smooth passage of what has been called Cromnibus and led to a weekend session that arguably gave outgoing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid an opportunity to advance several of President Obama's nominees toward confirmation, including the once-stalled nomination of Murthy.

GUN CONTROL PING
He already passed in the Senate, it’s a done deal.
A cabinet position cannot issue an ordinance that is illegal and/or unconstitutional. Laws are changed/created through the legislative branch in regular order.
Doesn’t matter what he thinks or thinks not. Means nothing.
The new Congress should order CONFIRMATION HEARINGS for these appointees, starting in January.
Surgeon General is a ceremonial position with no real power. All this extremist will do is rally all the patriotic pro 2nd amendment crowd.
Oh really? Like Amnesty and changes to the Obamacare law?
A ‘prohibition on guns’ will be declared just as there once was a prohibition on alcohol. It’s a ‘health issue’ you see..
Got me some of these just in case. The General Idiot is welcome to come try and to take them ... and if he does, he might find out how well they work!
Gun Control Ping
Laws are laws and then there are Federal Regulations which freely spring from the faceless bureaucrats. Their intent seems to be seizing control of every aspect of our lives. They do not need congressional approval to become a major pain in the butt.

You are never going to rid this nation of guns. So, that means the criminals will have them. Would you rather have a 12 gauge shotgun in your home or let your wife and/or children be raped and killed without the means to stop them? Of course, you don't think that can happen to you - so do those I read about or see on TV every day on the local Los Angeles news.
Personally, I'd like to see every decent citizen carrying. It's proven fact that those cities that allow carry (open or concealed) have less crime.
Typical of an Obambi nomination.
GUN CONTROL PING
Unpracticed doctor, founder of docs against Glocks, proponent of infringing on constitutional guarantees, wins lottery in foreign land. Seriously. At 36, how much does this clown know about reality in a foreign country? Remember, not all docs finish at the top of the class. Nice goin’ hairy screed you p.o.s.
Great Photoshop graphic. Wish that bacon 00 did exist and issued to our troops in country. Wonder how you could include bacon bits or liquid into rifle and side arm and other projectiles. Then advertise to the muslime that’s what is coming at them with every round. Too bad the West has become so PC. Such ammunition would definitely give many islamists pause.
Murthy is A Super Wing-nut
If guns are a health hazard that must be eliminated then muslims, and gang members also need to be eliminated with extreme prejudice.
After that dumbass Arkansas cotton sack dragger who handed out punctured rubbers “for da chillrin” who klintoon had as Surgeon Gen, it doesn’t make much difference.
Why is it that when a Democrat has to leave office either being voted out or term limited out, he stays until his replacement is completely sworn in, but if a Republican has to leave office for those reasons, he has to relinquish power as soon as the votes are counted?
How ‘bout hollow points or ballistic tips loaded with bacon bits?
