A court has ordered a postmortem on the body of politician Andreas Schockenhoff, a sharp critic of Russian president Vladimir Putin, to squash rumors of foul play after his death on Saturday night. […]

Right. Of course, they waited until after he left power to assassinate him. That Soviet bureaucracy is so hard to push the proper paperwork through. Normally, middle-aged drunk drivers have such long life expectancies.

Neither of the two most famous defenestrations worked. Twice, Protestant mobs attempted to assassinate entire generations (a century apart) of the royal family of Prague. Both times, the victims emerged without a scratch.
