THE manager of the Lindt cafe who was fatally shot in the Martin Place siege is being praised as a hero, responsible for allowing others trapped in the cafe to escape.
Tori Johnson, 34, was wrestling a gun from gunman Man Haron Monis when he was killed.
It is understood the cafe manager decided to take action when the hostage-taker begun to doze off after the siege had been ongoing for 17 hours.
He lunged at the gunmans weapon, enabling others to flee.

May God rest his soul, and the other dead hostage’s as well. She died defending a friend from the gunman.
a hero.
The word “hero” is often abused.
This man was a true hero.
God bless this man, but if I was gonna grab for his gun i would also be implanting something sharp into his temple. In for a penny, in for a pound. If you’re gonna do it, go all in.

Put him up there with Todd Beamer in the Pantheon of Jihadist Fighters.
Fortunately, in Australia, we have an honours system that allows civilians to be decorated for bravery in the same way members of the military are.
It needs to all be dispassionately investigated - but based on these reports, it looks to me like Tori Johnson may be eligible for the Cross of Valour - equivalent in status and honour to the Victoria Cross. Even if his courage was of a slighly lower grade, the Star of Courage and the Bravery Medal are available. And he may not be the only one.
Katrina Dawson died a hero as well, trying to protect her pregnant friend.
Islam is evil.
looks at the still picture of the five people escaping from the scene then look at the still picture of the two hostages (man and woman) with their hands up in the cafe’ window....looks like those two escaped...
This was heroism but also tragedy.
But perhaps your legal system and immigration system should be examined for ways to prevent such incidents in the future...just as ours should have been examined in light of 9/11.Hopefully your Labor Party won't be as stupid as is our Democrat Party in dealing with the findings of such an investigation.
Amen.
Ooops...I meant Martin Place.
This man was the true definition of a HERO..so was Katrina Dawson, mother of three..God Bless them both and may they both be remembered for their heroism
I say arrest all muzlims in Austrailia and deport them to some desert somewhere...You can bet the so called moderate muzlims are passing out candy all over the city/country...
The Australian gov’t is 100% responsible for this...First off, they let a terrorist connected with a murder out on bail...And secondly, they refuse to let Australian citizens defend themselves...A disgrace...
This brave man was sacrificed on the alter of the liberal Aussie scum that allowed these islamic monsters into their beautiful country. He might as well have been marched up a stepped pyramid in the jungle and had his chest cavity opened with an obsidian knife by the left.
May God bless both Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson for their heroism in their efforts to save others.
