I adopted a dog a few weeks ago. I am thinking of taking it back.

He is pooping everywhere. My apartment smells like dog poop! I take him out, he goes, I take him back in and he poops in 15 minutes!

He wakes me at 3am to go out. By the time I get dressed, he already pooped in his kennel.

He gets in the garbage looking for food. I feed him in the morning and eveni g. I take him out at lunch time.

But, he keeps pooping everywhere!

Mine got in the trash last night. The bum, this after bringing him in from the rain, watering and feeding him.

Don’t think his doggie mind knows what the stink eye means.

What kind of dog did you adopt? How old is it?

I went through a rough adoption about a year and a half ago. It was so bad that I wanted to give him back every day for about 5 months. However, I stuck it out and just yesterday posted an update to my original thread asking FReepers for help. Now, he is darn near a perfect dog! I am glad I stuck it out.

You can see the year and a half long thread here:

Oh, and the pooping problem might be a food issue. I found that “Dr Gary’s Best Breed” dog food really helped to “solidify” things. Plus, my dog seems a lot happier with it...
