My argument was purely linguistic, about the meaning of a term.
I quite agree the terms are twisted, particularly in the case of “assault weapon.” That term is so vague every agency or state defines it differently. Often it means little more than “scary looking gun.”
The term “assault shotgun” is sometimes used for tactical shotguns.
That what the Saiga is, a tactical 12 ga shot gun, based on AK47 with a 5 and 10 rd magazine. I thought that it would kick less because it uses some of the gasses to cycle but it kicks like a mule, a lot more than a regular 12 ga pump action. I guess in a really hairy situation the adrenaline would kick in and you wouldn’t worry too much about the recoil but a clay gun it is not.
