NOTRE DAME - After hundreds of protests broke out across the country over the case of Eric Garner, the Notre Dame women's basketball team joined in the effort.
At Saturday's game against Michigan the team wore shirts that read "I Can't Breathe". The phrase comes from the last thing Garner said before he died.
According to our partners at the South Bend Tribune:
A Notre Dame spokesperson said the decision to wear the shirts was driven by the players, but that the coaches and administration supported the move.
Did anyone in the crowd leave?

I wonder if the shirts should read “she” can’t breathe, in honor of the 19 yro burned alive as a probable black gang murder.....
I was going to say if they cannot breath, call the undertaker.
If Garner couldn’t breathe, how could he talk? Also, how were the cops supposed to know he had health issues? He looked like a big, healthy guy. Garner died at the hospital. Where are the demands that the doctors be fired or the hospital sued? It makes as much sense as blaming the cops.
Ever watched the show, Cops? How many people yell and scream that they can’t breathe or that the cops are hurting them in an attempt to get the cops to let go?

The coach had better discipline that team. But she won’t, she’s gone rouge after last years comments.
The ND Admin. should advise the team members their athletic scholarships have just been withdrawn!!!
