The United States Congress has passed a bill which would impose sanctions on Venezuelan officials found to have violated protesters' rights.
The vote was passed by the House of Representatives and received similar approval by the Senate earlier this week.
The bill is now likely to be signed into law by President Barack Obama.
Venezuela's President Nicholas Maduro described the move as imposing "insolent imperialist sanctions".

Were looking at enormous losses coming for businesses. This is only the beginning. The only thing that can resolve this problem is a complete overhaul of the economic model.

I beleive the folks of this failing country would be better served if we would fly over and drop the billions we will spend to enforce these “sanctions,” at least some good may come from a drop......
Are we going to stop importing oil from them?
That is probably a million dollars a day, even at today’s prices and their lower quality oil.
