After the “cromnibus” passed Thursday night, Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., made the rather shocking claim that GOP leadership convinced him to vote for the rule allowing the bill to get to the floor by telling him they were pulling the bill anyway.
“Earlier today, I supported the Rule because I was informed by Leadership that the CROmnibus was dead and a short term CR would take its place,” Stutzman said in a news release. “I was very surprised and even more disappointed to see the CROmnibus back on the floor. The American people deserve better.” The rule passed the House Thursday 214 to 212 after Stutzman and Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-Mich., both switched their votes from ‘Nay’ to ‘Yea.’
Had Stutzman not switched, it’s unclear if the bill would ever have come to the floor, or passed hours later.

My condolences to the district that voted this dunce into office, we all have been had but you folks take the cake.
Either that or he's definitely too stupid to serve in Congress!
Get a bill of impeachment ready or failing that, get him out of office in two years!

He had already voted NO on the rule to allow CRomnibus to come up for a vote. The vote time had expired, but Boehner kept it open and told Stutzman he was going to pull the bill and replace it with a short term CR, but to vote for the rule anyway. Stutzman believed Boehner and switched his vote. If Stutzman hadn’t done what he did, CRomnibus would have died; instead it passed tonight.

The Republicans have given up the power of the purse for the next 2 years. Nothing will get done during 2016 since it is an election year. Nothing can be done next year because the budget due to the CR is set in stone until next October. The new majority now will have no power.
If this is so— who communicated this to him, and how? If this was Boehner or McCarthy the whip- then this is absolute crap and devious behaviour. They need to be called out by us- all of us. This is where this stops. The dems aren’t happy for different reasons.
There is some kind of deal with obamaumao and Boehner, and for God’s sake with McConnell. Where is Anne Coulter on this “arrangement” now? Is she giving Christie a massage.
The REAL Americans must rise up against this cabal.
There is an aspect of stupidity on this— you are right— why vote at all for a bill that will be “pulled” when you know you are voting for/against the rule that will put the bill to a vote. No need for a “rule” if there is not to be a vote. This makes little sense unless they knew he would bite stupidly.
Marlin Stutzman is a dummy to get tricked. If Ted Cruz can notice it them anybody can. I feel some people in congress are plain stupid.

Boehner needs to GO, period. He is a Chamber of Commerce crony lying shiite.
Ok, so what are the rank and file members of the House going to do about Boehner’s lying? He has lied to the American people, he has lied to the Republican Party, now he is lying to his own caucus. Oh that’s right, it is a ready made excuse, we don’t want to punish, or remove Boehner from his position of power, we would have to stand for something.
